On a busy feed, nobody owes your video their attention. The edit has to earn it, cut by cut.

Start with the payoff

Do not open with a logo or a slow introduction. Lead with the most interesting moment, then explain how you got there.

Cut anything that repeats

If two shots say the same thing, keep the stronger one. Trim pauses, trim set-ups and enter each scene as late as you can.

Design for silence

Many people watch with the sound off. Clear subtitles are not an extra; they are part of the edit. Keep them short, readable and away from the platform buttons.

Give the eye something new

A change of framing, a text beat or a simple graphic every few seconds keeps the video moving, even when one person is talking to the camera.

End cleanly

Finish on one clear next step. A single call to action works far better than a list of three.

Watch your edit once on your phone before publishing. If you get bored, your audience already has.
